Ann Curry's Loss is Your Gain!

A few months ago I tried sending Ann Curry a signed copy of THE OTHER LIFE, because I thought she'd enjoy it. Alas, it never got to her as the NBC mailroom returned the package unopened. I tried again, but those heartless gatekeepers still refused delivery.

So now, after spending the money on postage twice, I'm left with a $25 hardcover book inscribed to Ann Curry.

I won't try again, so if Ann Curry wants a copy of THE OTHER LIFE she's just going to have to buy one.* Meanwhile, her loss is your gain, as I'm giving this one away in a random drawing to someone who responds in the comments section below with an answer to the following question:

Why should Ann Curry read THE OTHER LIFE?

Every response counts as an entry and multiple responses are welcome. Offer ends midnight October 10. U.S. residents only. Good luck!

*Who am I kidding? If Ann Curry wants a copy of the book, all she has to do is contact my publicist, who would be thrilled to book me on The Today Show.

Ann Curry should read this book because it is inspiring and thought provoking. It makes you think of the "what if's" in life.. What if.... My mother had lived? Would I be on this path or a different one? What if.... Its an endless question with many possibilities. It really makes you think about how lucky you are and what you have even if you only have it for a Short time.love it and enjoy it!!!

I believe that Ann Curry should read The Other Life because it is a great book, and she would fall in love with it. And, then of course, she would want to showcase it and YOU on the show! :)

Honestly, not having read the book I can't say for certain, but by now she should read it because it would be the polite thing to do. After all, you've put a lot of time and money into this!

Ann Curry should read THE OTHER LIFE because it might be the one thing that she's been looking for without even realizing it.

Ann Curry should read The Other Life, because she enjoys reading books by brilliant authors. I am a huge fan of Ann Curry and you Ellen, and it would be great if she got to interview you on The Today Show! I also think she should read it because her gatekeepers are idiots and she needs to show them that they don't belong keeping great books written by great authors from her!

I have not read the book (something I hope to remedy by winning this copy!) but the honest truth is that Authors should be well rounded. They should want to explore the work of their piers so they have a knowledge of whats out there besides their own work! I cant imagine being an Author who isn't willing to take the plunge and see what else is out there. Also I have recently learned it is very difficult for new authors to get published. As a seasoned author, I would think she would want to make that journey less difficult on anyone she can. Oh and your awesome, that's my third reason. YAY CAFEMOM : )

A.c. should read this book because only then will she know that the entire mailroom staff should be fired for witholding such a masterpiece from her!

Ellen, you sweetie, Ms. Curry would benefit from this book, since she's intuitive & also could use a little "unwind time" after her long days. *wink*

I am so sad that the mailroom faeries did not see the gift of relaxation & joy that they have been denying Ms. Curry. It really is a pity, love. *sigh*

You know, Ellen, it would be mutually beneficial to the Today Show staff & to you for you to be a guest on there.

Here's why:

(1) The economy is having difficulty correcting, & your books in the libraries across the US would lighten the load for ladies everywhere.

(2) Writing is hard work & the pay is not as glam & b-i-g as folks would think, so you can relate to the viewers in regard to hustling, working your tuckus off, & getting paid barely a fair wage.

(3) You're so adorable, funny, photogenic, & witty that you'd give the staff & the viewers all a good laugh & a big smile, both of which we know are good for the health, the soul, the mind, & the heart! *wink*

So, there's my 2-cents' worth, darling. *hugs*

If I win this copy, Ms. Curry will have to put you on the Today show in order to get it back from me. *giggle*

I love you lots & lots & am so very disappointed that Ms. Curry did not receive her book from you.

Love & light...& great big hugs...Ceci

Ann is the one who lost an opportunity for a great read. She's missing a wonderfully told story that keeps you unable to put this book down. Millions of readers who put it on the best seller lists can't be wrong! Her loss is definitely our gain & I hope I'm the one gaining! LOL!

Ann Curry should read this book not only for the investigative journalistic aspects of her career, but because the ending of a good book opens up a million little messages for dicussions that can have a great affect on the masses
