Lisa Kudrow gets an Emmy nom!

Today I was thrilled to learn that Lisa Kudrow got an Emmy nomination for her lead role in The Comeback. That show was hilarious yet chilling (in an exquisitely cringe-y sort of way), and Lisa's performance was perfect. Too bad America wasn't quite ready for such subtle and scathing humor. Like so many of the smartest TV comedies (Sports Night, Buffalo Bill, etc.), it got cancelled. I wonder if The Office will hang in there.

Anyway, congrats to Lisa. Well-deserved!

I hope it comes downunder. I'm always on the look out for quality television. I only watch shows I enjoy (no channel-flipping), and at the moment, I watch nothing. Except last night, I watched the premier of Old Christine. What I learned was that the WRITERS of a show are VERY IMPORTANT. Dreyfus just didn't have the opportunity to be as funny as she was on Seinfeld.

When I was in the Army my best buddy had a huge crush on Lisa.

I LOVED The Comback! Lisa was terrific in it, and I'm so glad she got this nomination. Good for her! Shame on HBO for cancelling that show. But it will go down in my personal history as having quite possibly the biggest payoff in a finale ever. (Loved when Val punched the writer in the stomach and they both puked!)
